Greek Mythology: The legend of 12 Gods of Olympus

1.zeus
Zeus (Greek: Ζεύς) or service (Δίας)
is the king of the gods in Greek mythology.
In the works of Hesiod Theogony, Zeus called the "Father of Gods and men".
Zeus lived on Mount Olympus.
Zeus was the god of sky and thunder.
Symbols are the thunderbolt, eagle, bull, and oak.
Zeus is often depicted by Greek artists in a standing position with the hand holding lightning or sit on the throne.
Zeus also known in ancient Roman and ancient India.
In Latin called Iopiter while in Sanskrit is called Dyaus-tape.
Zeus was the son of Kronos and Rea,
and is the youngest of the brothers.
Zeus was married to his sister,
Goddess Hera into marriage.
Zeus is famous for its association with many women and have many children.

His children, among others, Athena, Apollo and Artemis, Hermes, Ares, Hebe, Hephaestus, Persephone, Dionysus, Perseus, Heracles, Helene, Minos, and Mousai.

2.hera
Hera (Greek: Ἥρα or Ἥρη)
is the goddess of marriage is in Greek mythology.
Hera is the sister and wife of Zeus.
Hera was the son of Kronos and Rea
and is one of the 12 Gods of Olympus.
In Roman mythology, Hera associated with Juno. Cows and peacock are her sacred animal.
He is depicted as a goddess of greatness and wisdom.
Hera often enthroned and crowned with a plain (circular crown which is only worn by some of the great goddess).
Hera is known for its jealous and vindictive,
especially in the affair, and the children of Zeus.
Hera also been angry at Pelias for murder in the temple of Hera,

and in Paris who did not vote as a goddess Hera prettiest but chose Aphrodite as the most beautiful.

3.poseidon
In Greek mythology,
Poseidon (Greek: Ποσειδῶν, Poseidon)

known as the god of the sea, rivers, and lakes.
Poseidon has the form of a trident weapon that can cause floods and earthquakes.
The trident was made by the Cyclopes during Titanomachy.
Poseidon also has a vehicle that is towed by Hippocampus (half-horse half-fish creature).

Poseidon has been revered in Pylos and Thebes since the Bronze Age Greece as the brother of Zeus and Hades.
There is a Homeric Hymns for Poseidon.
Poseidon has many children.
Poseidon is a protector of many cities in Greece,
although he failed to get the City of Athens.

His favorite animal is a horse and a bull. Pine tree sacred to him.

4.demeter
In Greek mythology,
Demeter (Greek: Δημήτηρ, Demeter, the possibility of meaningful "mother earth")

is the goddess of agriculture and fertility.
Demeter control the harvest, soil fertility, season (denoted by Horai), and wheat.
Demeter was the daughter of Kronos and Rhea.
After birth, Demeter and her brothers swallowed by Kronos,
who feared that someday his throne will be overthrown by his children. Demeter was saved by Zeus and is sometimes referred to as one of the gods of Olympus replace Hades
because more often Hades in the underworld.
Demeter is the goddess who taught humans cultivate and man leave the way of life of hunting and mixes it into cultivation.
Demeter hair symbolizes grains of wheat which is a symbol.
Demeter is also depicted wearing a plain, circular crown worn by the goddess.
Demeter had a son named Persephone who became the wife of Hades.

In Greek mythology,
Dionysus (Greek: Διόνυσος or Διώνυσος)

is the god of wine (wine) and is always associated as the god of the party,
he is also one of the 12 Gods of Olympus.
He was known as Bacchus in Roman and his arrival caused madness named bakkheia.
The mission of Dionysus was to ring a musical instrument aulos and end the anxiety.

Scientists have discussed the relationship of Dionysus with the "Cult of Life" and the ability to communicate between the living and the dead.

6.apollo
Apollo (Greek: Απόλλων, Apollon; or Απελλων, Apellōn)

is the god of light, music, archery, medicine, the Sun, and poet in Greek mythology and Roman mythology.
He is the son of Zeus and Leto and the twin brother of Artemis.
Orakelnya in Delphi is very famous.

10.ares
Ares (Ancient Greek: Ἄρης [árɛːs], Modern Greek: Άρης [aris])

is the god of war in Greek mythology.
Ares is the son of Zeus and Hera, and is included in the 12 gods of Olympus. Two main bodyguard is Fobos and Deimos.
Ares is the god of bloodlust and an embodiment of the murder.
Ares power over the means of war, attack and defense of the city, rebellion, looting, virility, and courage.
Vulture and the dog is an animal sacred to Ares.
In the Iliad, he appeared to be surrounded by various incarnations of the horrors of war, but in the character Odyssey slightly softened. Ares is also involved in the establishment of the city of Thebes.
In Roman mythology he is known by the name of the god Mars.
Name Mars became the name of one of the planet close to earth and has a 2 month named after his bodyguard, Phobos and Deimos.

The name is a tribute to him in March.

11.aphrodite
Aphrodite (Greek: Ἀφροδίτη)

is the goddess of love, beauty, and sexuality in Greek mythology.
There are two different legends about the birth of Aphrodite.
The first version says Aphrodite is the daughter of Zeus and Dione, but is less popular legend.
The second version, which is based on the works of Hesiod Theogony, said that Aphrodite was born from the genitals of Uranus were cut by Titan Kronos and thrown into the sea.

Because of her beauty, the gods feared that Aphrodite will cause division among the gods,

12.hephaestus
Hephaestus (Greek: Ἥφαιστος, Hephaistos)
